Smut peddling like it were 1954
Evolution of the social/cultural mores as to what is obscene, leud, and bawdy. Artists driven pieces looking back on the topic, using vintage material reimagined with oils and tissue papers.
This series is based on the concept of social mores in flux. ‘Lewd and salacious’ are now ‘tame and naive. What will fifty years from now bring? Lingerie robots and gutted imagination?
The poster subjects are vintage finds, reimagined into floral gardens of plenty. I then painted them in oils, with tissue paper pasted into each. Lastly, I finished with markers for detail.
